FLC means "Ferroelectric Liquid Crystals".
FLC Electronics AB is a spin-off from a research group at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg, Sweden (see the map). The group's primary scientific interest is physics of polar liquid crystals and it is world-known from the discovery of Surface-Stabilized Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal structure. Advanced research requires advanced instruments and the ones available on the market were not good enough. Hence, we developed a unique series of instruments that quickly became popular not only within the liquid crystal research but are successfully used in a wider range of applications that we could ever imagine.
